BI Engineer - Remote Position at Syrve

About the Role

We're hiring a BI Engineer to join Syrve's dynamic team. As a BI Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our data analytics capabilities. This remote position allows you to work from anywhere while contributing to a leading provider of software solutions for restaurant management.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain dashboards in Power BI, ensuring data visualization is effective and insightful.
• Write advanced DAX measures to enhance reporting capabilities.
• Enhance the analytical data warehouse (DWH) to support business intelligence needs.
• Design data models tailored for BI requirements, optimizing for performance and usability.
• Develop complex ETL processes using Python, integrating various data sources.
• Maintain data pipelines in Apache Airflow, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Analyze and optimize existing data structures for improved efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a BI Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a similar role.
• Strong practical experience with Power BI, including advanced DAX, data modeling, and administration of Power BI Service.
• Proficient in Excel OLAP cubes, with the ability to write formulas and build queries for semantic Power BI models.
• Solid knowledge of Python for writing complex ETL scripts and working with external APIs.
• Understanding of the architecture of analytical DWHs and their differences from classical relational databases.
• Confident SQL skills, particularly with PostgreSQL and MariaDB, and ability to read T-SQL.
• Readiness to work with legacy data structures and an understanding of SaaS business metrics and CRM structures.
• Basic understanding of Power Automate flows.
• Proficiency in Russian and English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with data visualization best practices.
• Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
