About the Role

Join Doctolib as a Backend Software Engineer and help us enhance our healthcare technology platform! This Backend Software Engineer remote position allows you to work from anywhere while contributing to impactful projects that improve patient care.

What You'll Do

  • Collaboratively design, implement, and maintain high-quality backend solutions that deliver value to our users.
  • Implement best practices to maintain and improve engineering and operational excellence.
  • Proactively monitor system health by measuring SLIs, defining SLOs, and improving alerts.
  • Build domain knowledge and collaborate across teams to reduce dependencies and uncertainty.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions.

Requirements

  • Strong technical expertise in the JVM ecosystem, including Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with modern development methodologies, including Domain Driven Design and Test Driven Development.
  • Product-oriented mindset with the ability to suggest tradeoffs balancing business needs and technical constraints.
  • Experience in monitoring system health and contributing to its improvement.
  • Familiarity with regulated industries, particularly healthcare, and experience with AI tools.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with event-driven design and distributed systems patterns.
  • Hands-on experience in pair and mob programming.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security best practices.
