Azure AI Architect - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Azure AI Architect to join our team remotely. As an Azure AI Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing AI-driven solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to innovative projects that leverage cutting-edge technology.

What You'll Do

• Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers and internal teams, ensuring the technical feasibility and success of AI-driven solution implementations.
• Design end-to-end AI and cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure, translating functional and business requirements into scalable technical architectures and blueprints.
• Lead architectural decisions regarding tools, technologies, integrations, dependencies, and best practices across Azure and AI platforms.
• Oversee and ensure the quality, consistency, and robustness of the team's technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Guide and mentor engineering teams during implementation, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and delivery goals.
• Contribute to pre-sales activities, including technical assessments, solution design, effort estimation, and proposal support.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders, including IT teams, leadership, and customers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of overall experience with the Microsoft technology stack, including proven experience as an Azure Architect in a consulting or project-based environment.
• Strong experience designing and delivering AI solutions on Azure, including integration with Azure AI platform services.
• Solid understanding of prompt engineering techniques and modern generative AI concepts.
• Hands-on experience implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns.
• Practical experience with Azure OpenAI or other generative AI technologies (e.g., GPT) is a strong plus.
• Strong background in architecture design and Azure PaaS services, such as Container Apps, Functions, Web Apps, and Storage.
• Experience with Azure Cognitive Services (e.g., Azure AI Search, OCR, Vision) and data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks.
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps Pipelines (or equivalent CI/CD tools).
• Development experience with .NET 6+ or Python.
• Native-level English; Portuguese and/or French are a plus.
• Azure or AI certifications are a plus (e.g., AZ-900, AZ-204, AZ-300, AZ-400, DP-900, AI-102).
• European Union Citizenship or Portuguese Working Visa / Portuguese Residency.
