Assistant SENDCo - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Assistant SENDCo remote position at Outwood Academy Hemsworth. This role is pivotal in supporting our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision, ensuring that students with additional needs receive the highest quality of support and inclusive teaching strategies. As an Assistant SENDCo remote, you will collaborate closely with the Lead SENDCo and the Vice Principal to enhance educational outcomes for all students.
What You'll Do
- Support the leadership and development of SEND provision across the academy.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead SENDCo to implement effective interventions and inclusive practices.
- Provide guidance on funding applications and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Foster collaboration among staff to create a supportive network for students with additional needs.
- Utilize data to identify areas for improvement and raise educational standards.
Requirements
- A degree in a relevant discipline and a teaching qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Recent teaching experience, particularly in Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Confidence in using standard computer packages to enhance student learning.
- Ability to relate to students in a supportive manner and recognize safeguarding issues.
- Passion for improving educational outcomes for students with additional needs.
Nice to Have
- Experience in leading SEND initiatives or teams.
- Willingness to pursue the National SENDCo Award at the Master’s level.
- Knowledge of current curriculum developments and teaching strategies.
