Assistant Mechanical Engineer - Diesel Engines (Marine) - Remote

About the Role

We are looking for an Assistant Mechanical Engineer - Diesel Engines (Marine) to join our team. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work with marine diesel machinery and contribute to the maintenance and overhauling of critical equipment. You will assist engineers in coordinating and supervising various tasks, ensuring smooth operations and high standards of quality.

What You'll Do

• Assist engineers in coordinating and supervising maintenance and overhauling jobs for marine and diesel machinery.
• Dismantle and troubleshoot mechanical defects, ensuring equipment operates smoothly.
• Perform testing of equipment and prepare job acceptance reports upon completion.
• Monitor and update job status daily, ensuring timely communication with customers and contractors.
• Supervise mechanical, diesel, and air-conditioning works on-site.
• Arrange for inspections and job acceptance, maintaining high standards of service.
• Carry out general repair and maintenance jobs onboard vessels or in workshops.
• Utilize IMTE tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, and torque wrenches effectively.

Requirements

• NTC/Diploma in Mechanical, Marine, or Automotive related field.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and diesel engine components and functions.
• Able to read simple drawings and service reports.
• Possess man management experience for up to 5 technicians.
• Willing to work in outdoor environments on-site.
• Basic working knowledge of MS Word and Excel for status reporting.

Nice to Have

• Experience in marine engineering or related fields.
• Familiarity with advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with customers and contractors.
