About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a passionate and skilled ASIC Design Engineering Intern to join our team at Western Digital for Summer 2026. This internship provides students with a unique chance to work on real-world problems and gain valuable industry experience in firmware development. As an intern, you will collaborate with multiple engineering teams to define requirements and specifications, assisting in designing, developing, and debugging embedded solutions.
What You'll Do
- Assist in designing, developing, and debugging embedded solutions.
- Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to define requirements and specifications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Verilog and System Verilog.
- Debug and troubleshoot RTL issues.
- Conduct and participate in testing sessions to ensure solutions are robust and maintainable.
- Document development processes and maintain documentation.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on ASIC development.
- Strong programming skills in Verilog/System Verilog.
- Ability to work onsite without relocation assistance.
- Experience with verification teams to ensure thorough testing.
Nice to Have
- Experience with ASIC simulation tools like VCS, Xcelium, or QuestaSim.
- Experience with version control tools like Git.
