About the Role

We are seeking an Aquatic Supervisor to join our team in a remote capacity. As an Aquatic Supervisor, you will provide strong leadership and expert guidance to staff while ensuring quality programming is delivered to patrons in a safe manner. This role is crucial for maintaining the standards set by the City of Richmond Hill and the Lifesaving Society.

What You'll Do

  • Provide supervision to aquatic programs, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Respond to emergencies, including medical situations and pool accidents.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service to promote repeat participation.
  • Participate in the hiring process for part-time staff as needed.
  • Conduct orientations and training sessions for effective swim instruction and safety.
  • Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all programs.
  • Oversee aquatic volunteers, providing ongoing feedback and training.
  • Manage aquatic drop-in programs and monitor pool safety equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and relevant aquatic certifications (National Lifeguard, LSS Swim, etc.)
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a supervisory role.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Experience with ActiveNet and SAP systems is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, with physical fitness to maintain technical certifications.
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check required.

  • Knowledge of budget management.
