About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Application Engineer - CNC Machine Tool Specialist to join our team at Matsuura Machinery USA. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in CNC machining while working with a leading company in the machinery manufacturing industry.

What You'll Do

  • Provide high-level support for CNC machines, including 5-axis functions and machine parameter data editing.
  • Deliver on-site technical training for Matsuura customers and dealers.
  • Offer expert advice and product recommendations to assist sales teams.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers and dealer personnel via phone, email, or video meeting platforms.
  • Produce technical documentation to inform the factory of desired functional changes to machines.
  • Create engaging content for trade shows and dealer open houses relevant to Matsuura’s target markets.
  • Assist in the packaging and moving of machines and related equipment for trade shows.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on 5-axis CNC machining experience.
  • Strong understanding of 5-axis functions, including Tilted Work Planes (TWP), Tool Center Point Control (TCP), and Work Setting Error Compensation (WSEC).
  • Proficiency in CAM programming for 5-axis milling machines.
  • Experience with Fanuc controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Recent experience as a CNC Machinist or Applications Engineer.
  • Advanced operational skills with CNC machine tools.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • A technical degree in Machine Tool Technology or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Nice to Have

  • Macro/parametric programming skills.
  • Experience with Renishaw probing.
