Allied Health Assistant - Equipment Services (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Allied Health Assistant to join our Equipment Services team in Whangarei. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers the opportunity to work remotely while making a significant impact on the lives of patients. As an Allied Health Assistant, you will support a variety of Allied Health services, delivering person and whānau-centred care within an interdisciplinary framework.
What You'll Do
- Assist the healthcare team in providing direct and indirect care to patients and their families.
- Manage the flow and turnaround of loan equipment, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with Occupational and Physiotherapists to deliver mobility equipment to patients.
- Support the team in various settings including hospitals, ambulatory care, and community environments.
- Engage with patients of all age groups, providing compassionate support and assistance.
Requirements
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 English and Mathematics or equivalent.
- Current and full driver’s license.
- Good literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically able to complete manual handling tasks.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of patients.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience as an Assistant in a healthcare setting.
- Experience working with individuals of all age groups.
- Familiarity with mobility equipment and its usage.
