About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Verification of Benefits Specialist - Remote to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our patients receive the benefits they are entitled to, working closely with healthcare providers and insurance companies. As a Verification of Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for verifying patient benefits and eligibility, ensuring accurate billing, and providing exceptional customer service.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct thorough verification of patient benefits and eligibility for various insurance plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Utilize healthcare database systems and electronic medical records (EMR) to maintain accurate records of patient information.
  • Assist in the revenue cycle management process by ensuring timely and accurate billing.
  • Provide support to patients regarding their insurance benefits and coverage options.
  • Collaborate with the billing department to ensure seamless processing of claims.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on industry changes and best practices.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in healthcare administration or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of insurance verification processes and revenue cycle management.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and healthcare database systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data entry and reporting.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with customer service in a healthcare setting is a plus.
