About the Role

Join us as a Track Construction Management Intern (Summer) at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the transportation sector while working onsite in Brooklyn, New York. As a Track Construction Management Intern, you'll be involved in various administrative tasks and projects that are crucial to the maintenance and management of the New York City Transit system.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with daily administrative requests from the MOW Chief Track Office.
  • Prepare production reports and track production schedules.
  • Liaise and collaborate with various divisions at NYCT, including EAM and Track Planning.
  • Prepare weekly IOD reports for the Chief of Track.
  • Compile information for monthly IOD deep dive meetings.
  • Maintain records of IOD packages across all divisions of the Track department.
  • Coordinate with sub-divisions to document planned and actual weekend work.
  • Prepare and submit weekend work reports to the VP’s office weekly.

Projects

  • Assist in compiling the CWR Initiative Program for the Subway Action Plan.
  • Monitor and compile various construction performance reports.
  • Help prepare labor and material budgets for sub-divisions, including quarterly forecasting.
  • Supervise employee availability reports.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to work independently while being a team player.
  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program with at least a 2.5 GPA or a graduate program with at least a 2.8 GPA.
  • Preferred majors include Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Transportation Planning, or related fields.
