About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Tool Crib Attendant to join our manufacturing team in Ramsey, Minnesota. This Tool Crib Attendant position offers a unique opportunity to support the production process in our machining department while working in a dynamic environment. As a Tool Crib Attendant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining tooling inventory and ensuring that our machinists have the necessary tools for their operations.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with the production process by managing the tool crib inventory and stocking tools as needed.
  • Set up and break down tooling for machining centers, ensuring that all tools are in good condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized tool room, implementing 5S practices to enhance efficiency.
  • Perform routine inventory checks on replenishable tooling to ensure availability.
  • Collaborate with programmers and the Shift Supervisor to troubleshoot tooling issues and provide technical support.
  • Test potential tooling upgrades and new technology in conjunction with the tool room coordinator.
  • Observe and promote safe work practices in the tool room and machining areas.
  • Utilize basic Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for documentation and communication.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree in machining is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a machine shop tool room or a strong knowledge of CNC machining and tooling is highly preferred.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for this Tool Crib Attendant role.
  • Ability to lift and carry weights ranging from 0-50 lbs frequently and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to the machine shop environment and tooling needs.
