About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Hampshire County Council. This Specialist Speech and Language Therapist role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people while working in a hybrid environment. You will be part of a supportive team delivering high-quality speech and language therapy across various locations, including Winchester and surrounding areas.

What You'll Do

  • Provide specialist speech and language therapy assessments and evidence-based interventions for children and young people.
  • Collaborate with education staff, families, and multi-agency professionals to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Deliver services predominantly within specialist educational settings for children with learning difficulties, SEMH needs, and/or autism.
  • Support capacity building work within schools, contributing to training and policy developments.
  • Offer clinical and managerial supervision to Speech and Language Therapists within the team.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure adherence to professional standards.
  • Travel across Hampshire to deliver services in various settings.

Requirements

  • A qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience supporting children and young people with a range of SEN needs, including severe learning difficulties and autism.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships.
  • A flexible and proactive approach with strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical excellence.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in educational settings.
  • Knowledge of EHCP provision.
  • Confidence using IT systems for clinical documentation.
