Specialist Software Engineer - Java (Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for a Specialist Software Engineer - Java remote to join our dynamic team at Société Générale. In this role, you will independently design components, develop code, and test case scenarios while applying relevant software craftsmanship principles. What You'll Do

• Independently design and implement components, ensuring high-quality clean code that meets acceptance criteria.
• Deliver on all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in line with Agile and IT craftsmanship principles.
• Collaborate with other development teams to define and implement APIs and rules for data access.
• Participate in team ceremonies and agile practices to foster a collaborative environment.
• Provide level 2/level 3 production support and perform daily checks to maintain production processes.
• Contribute to the development of guidelines and ensure team adherence to best practices.
• Assess production improvement areas and suggest automation for repetitive tasks.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in full-stack development.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Java (versions 8, 11, or 17) and familiarity with frameworks like Spring Boot, REST API, and Hibernate.
• Experience in frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular 14+ or React.
• Knowledge of relational databases (SQL, PL SQL) and experience with DevOps tools (GIT, JENKINS).
• Understanding of development principles such as SOLID, Design Patterns, and Clean Architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and microservices architecture.
