Software Engineer - New Grad Program (Remote Opportunity)

About the Role

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Software Engineer - New Grad Program at Sigma Computing. This role is perfect for recent graduates looking to kickstart their careers in software engineering while working remotely. As a Software Engineer in our New Grad Program, you will engage with a dynamic team dedicated to transforming data into actionable insights. You will have the chance to work on various production features and learn efficient engineering practices for large scalable systems.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with experienced engineers, product leaders, and designers to develop innovative solutions.
• Experiment, prototype, and implement features that enhance our core product.
• Work on production software, focusing on building scalable Single Page Applications.
• Gain hands-on experience in backend development to handle multiple customers and billions of data points securely.
• Develop automated unit tests to ensure code quality and work with product owners to document your work.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from ideation through implementation.
• Gather insights from customer metrics to make informed development decisions.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and resources effectively.

Requirements

• Recent graduate (within the last 12 months) with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Ability to start a 3-month temp-to-hire role beginning in May 2025 or thereafter.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Operating Systems, Data Structures, Algorithms, and at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Excitement for building complex user interfaces, data visualizations, or backend systems.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and own tasks end-to-end with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to a full-time schedule (40 hours per week) for 12 weeks in-person in one of our office locations.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud data warehouses and analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with AI applications and data-driven decision-making.
• Interest in user experience design and customer feedback integration.
