Software Engineer - Developer Productivity for Tax Automation

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer - Developer Productivity to join Anrok, the leading tax automation platform, enabling businesses to expand globally without compliance complexity. As a Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing developer productivity across our engineering teams. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and tools while focusing on improving the development experience for engineers at Anrok.

What You'll Do

  • Own the tools and environments engineers use to write code, including local dev setup and AI-agent sandboxes.
  • Build a developer tooling ecosystem that encourages contributions from across the organization.
  • Enhance the code review experience through improved tooling, automation, and workflows that increase velocity without sacrificing quality.
  • Increase the speed and reliability of building and deploying code to production by optimizing CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and deployment workflows.
  • Instrument and measure developer experience, using data to identify bottlenecks and prioritize improvements.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in software engineering with experience in developer tooling, infrastructure, CI/CD, or platform engineering.
  • Experience in using AI coding tools and a passion for making other engineers more productive.
  • Proven ability to build internal tools and automation focused on developer productivity.
  • Comfortable working in the early stages of a new function and making build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Experience in measuring developer productivity and adapting approaches based on data insights.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Jest, ESLint, and other relevant tools.
  • Familiarity with GCP, Pulumi, Postgres, and TypeScript.
  • Experience in a startup environment.
