Senior Supplier Quality Engineer - Electromechanical & Plastics
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer - Electromechanical & Plastics to join our team in Malaysia. In this role, you will ensure the quality, capability, and reliability of Fluke’s electromechanical and plastics suppliers. As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you will lead supplier development and drive process capability improvements to meet our high standards for quality and performance.
What You'll Do
- Lead the qualification and ongoing performance management of suppliers specializing in injection molded plastics and electromechanical parts.
- Assess and improve supplier manufacturing processes, including mold design, tooling capability, and assembly processes.
- Drive supplier quality controls and readiness, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
- Conduct audits and ensure proper documentation and traceability at suppliers.
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, validating supplier readiness for production.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and lead structured problem-solving for supplier-related issues.
- Communicate supplier risks and quality status to leadership with clarity and urgency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, particularly in plastics and electromechanical components.
- Strong technical knowledge of injection molding, tooling development, and electromechanical assembly.
- Demonstrated proficiency with APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, and statistical tools.
- Hands-on experience with root-cause analysis methodologies.
- Ability to travel locally and internationally up to 30% to supplier sites.
Nice to Have
- Experience with mold flow analysis and tooling qualification.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and experience with Oracle PLM or ERP systems.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification or strong Lean/CI experience.
