About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Fleet Security (Remote) to join our team at Samsara. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of physical operations through innovative software solutions. As a senior full-stack engineer, you will lead the design and development of products based on vehicle telematics data, impacting industries that are crucial to our global economy.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver full-stack customer solutions, operating with deep autonomy across the product stack.
  • Lead technical design discussions to solve high-scale data challenges and influence the platform roadmap.
  • Pioneer end-to-end ML/AI deployment, building next-generation models integrated into our Connected Operations Platform.
  • Leverage one of the world's largest operational datasets to deliver actionable insights that generate clear and fast ROI for our customers.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Ship features that are immediately used by our customers and iterate based on their feedback.
  • Maintain production systems and provide operational support.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as we scale globally.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing and building products in a skilled software engineering team.
  • Strong programming fundamentals in languages such as Java, Python, or Golang.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale systems.
  • Ability to solve difficult, ambiguous problems methodically.
  • Experience with building ML/AI-enabled products.
  • Proactive growth mindset, always looking for ways to improve.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop the technical mastery of newer engineering team members.

Nice to Have

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
  • Experience building customer-facing web and mobile workflow applications.
  • Curiosity about customer needs and eagerness to improve their experience.
