About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Backend Developer) remote to join our expanding team at Precision Medicine Group. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in software architecture and backend development to create innovative solutions for the life sciences industry.
What You'll Do
- Translate business requirements into actionable technical documentation, guiding development and testing processes.
- Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and secure software systems, ensuring high-quality delivery of assigned tasks.
- Participate in software testing to identify and resolve bugs, ensuring robust and performant software systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and maintain software applications.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in software development, with a focus on backend technologies.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Expertise in R and Python backend development, including R package creation.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Docker and GitLab CI.
- Background in clinical trial data management.
- Familiarity with tools like GNU Make and command-line tools in Linux environments.
