Senior Server/​Core Switch Network Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Server/Core Switch Network Engineer to join our team at TekSynap. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on critical network infrastructure projects that support our Federal Government customers. You will play a key role in the preparation and validation of equipment configurations, ensuring the effective operation of Server/Core Switches across various environments.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and validate configurations for new installations and changes within the network.
• Diagnose faults and support effective fault resolution for Server/Core Switches.
• Assess the health of hardware and software infrastructure related to Server/Core Switches.
• Conduct network-related testing to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
• Implement, integrate, and plan migrations for Server/Core Switches.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for network issues.
• Document processes and develop installation network diagrams.
• Respond to and resolve trouble ticket escalations through our ticketing system.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with Server and Core Switches in large campus network environments.
• Ability to obtain VA HIGH BI clearance.
• Experience with Juniper software and troubleshooting complex networks.
• Must reside within the continental United States and have a Real ID state driver's license.
• Willingness to travel nationwide, approximately 75% of the time.
• Certifications such as JNCIS-ENT, JNCIP-ENT, and JNCIP-DC are preferred.

Nice to Have

• Experience with IPAM, LiveAction, ISE, and Palo Alto systems.
• Familiarity with automation tools to enhance network operations.
• Ability to provide supervisory oversight and direction for team members.
