Senior RF Hardware Engineer - Remote Options Available

We’re hiring a Senior RF Hardware Engineer to join our growing team at Rowden, where you will play a pivotal role in designing advanced RF systems. This Senior RF Hardware Engineer role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that strengthens national security and resilience. What You'll Do

• Design RF front-end architectures including amplification stages, filtering, frequency conversion, and signal conditioning.
• Own the design and development of RF and mixed-signal hardware from concept through to PCB implementation.
• Integrate high-speed ADCs and DACs into RF systems, ensuring optimal performance across the signal chain.
• Design multi-layer RF PCBs, focusing on RF performance, signal integrity, and manufacturability.
• Bring up new RF hardware platforms and validate performance using laboratory measurement equipment.
• Collaborate closely with FPGA and embedded software engineers to ensure system-level performance requirements are met.
• Produce high-quality design documentation and participate in design reviews.

Requirements

• Strong experience designing RF and analogue hardware for wireless systems.
• Deep understanding of the full RF signal chain, from antenna interface to digital processing.
• Experience with PCB design tools such as KiCad or Altium Designer.
• Practical experience using RF laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes.
• Ability to analyze RF system performance including noise figure and dynamic range.
• Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Software Defined Radio systems.
• Familiarity with RF simulation tools.
• Understanding of digital signal processing concepts relevant to RF systems.
