Senior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC (Chilled Water) - Remote Option

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC (Chilled Water) to join our dynamic team at BAE Systems. This role offers flexibility with hybrid and remote working options, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life effectively. You will be responsible for designing and developing chilled water systems, ensuring compliance with technical standards and quality expectations.

What You'll Do

• Prepare specifications and develop chilled water system designs in accordance with project requirements.
• Conduct fluid calculations, pump and pipework sizing, and create system schematics.
• Carry out design appraisals to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Participate in the maintenance and modification of engineering processes related to chilled water distribution systems.
• Perform specialist technical analyses, including fluid modeling and equipment performance assessments.
• Prepare detailed technical reports with recommendations for system improvements.
• Act as a point of contact for customers and suppliers regarding chilled water engineering matters.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced team members.

Requirements

• Experience in auxiliary system design, specifically fluid systems.
• Proficiency in creating and reviewing system schematics and calculations.
• Previous experience with chilled water systems is desirable.
• Experience in engineering or a defense-related industry is a plus.
• Academic qualification in Engineering or related STEM subjects.
• Recognized as Incorporated or Chartered Engineer through a professional institution.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Foran.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the total product lifecycle and understanding of through-life engineering issues.
