Senior Data Scientist - Advanced Analytics for Web3

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team at TRM Labs, a blockchain intelligence company dedicated to building a safer world. As a Senior Data Scientist remote, you will have end-to-end ownership of critical analytics products that help our customers detect, prevent, and mitigate cryptocurrency fraud and financial crime. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a high-impact team tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges, including human trafficking and financial fraud.

What You'll Do

• Lead the implementation of advanced analytics products that allow customers to explore complex blockchain data.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and research scientists to develop algorithms for analyzing complex data structures.
• Utilize your business acumen to prioritize the analytics product suite based on market demands.
• Develop complex statistical analyses, algorithms, and interactive visualizations for stakeholders.
• Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Establish best practices and statistical rigor around data-driven decision-making.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously, delivering impactful results under tight deadlines.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in an analytical role, preferably in data science or a related field.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or Physics.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL) and experience with programming languages (Python preferred).
• Proven experience in building scalable data and analytics products from design to deployment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on influencing decisions through data.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a results-driven mindset.
• Experience working directly with customers to understand their challenges and translate them into impactful models.
• Familiarity with distributed ledger technologies and cryptographic protocols is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the Web3 or blockchain industry.
• Knowledge of DeFi services and global regulations.
• Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
