Senior Data Engineer - Solana Focused Remote Role

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join Blockworks, a leading information platform in the crypto industry. This Senior Data Engineer remote position will allow you to leverage your expertise in data architecture and engineering to design and develop robust data pipelines. You will play a crucial role in transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive decision-making in the crypto space.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the creation and execution of data models and strategies that enhance our product offerings.
• Architect and manage data sourcing pipelines, ensuring efficient data aggregation from various sources into our data warehouse.
• Design and implement ETL solutions, including setting up blockchain nodes and sourcing data from third parties.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve data workflows and automate routine tasks for operational efficiency.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Research, Product, and Engineering to drive initiatives forward.
• Adapt to a fast-paced startup environment, embracing experimentation and innovation.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Typescript, Go, or Python.
• Expertise in SQL, particularly with PostgreSQL, dbt, and Hypertables.
• Experience with data warehousing solutions like Timescale, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including Docker, CI/CD, and AWS.
• Deep understanding of the crypto industry, with a strong preference for candidates who are crypto native.
• Experience building Solana ingestion pipelines and handling blockchain data effectively.

Nice to Have

• Experience in startup or incubator environments.
• Background in designing and managing microservices.
• Hands-on experience with security and privacy in data handling.
