Senior Backend Engineer - Golang for Travel Tech

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer - Golang to join Vio’s Meta Integrations team and help us in our expansion to different meta channels. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in identifying and delivering the best deals to various Metasearch channels, ensuring our customers get the best deal possible. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a modern tech stack, including Go, AWS, Redis, Snowflake, and Terraform, while processing large amounts of data daily.

What You'll Do

• Build and evolve metasearch integrations, delivering new features and improvements for partner-facing technical integrations.
• Own and improve Meta Integrations’ core production systems end-to-end, ensuring reliability and on-call readiness.
• Drive system design and technical decision-making, writing design documents and reviewing designs with peers.
• Continuously improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency by identifying bottlenecks and shipping measurable improvements.
• Operate in a data-informed way, leveraging data engineering and analysis to validate changes and measure impact.
• Raise the bar for the team by mentoring engineers and improving engineering practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, shipping, and operating high-scale back-end services in production.
• Proficiency in Golang and experience with at least two programming languages such as Go, Rust, Python, Java, or Scala.
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals with a track record of improving performance and reliability.
• Ability to write design documents and defend architecture trade-offs clearly.
• Data literacy, comfortable with data pipelines and using data to debug production behavior.
• Experience working in cross-functional product environments in agile setups.
