Senior Backend Developer - Innovative IT Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our team at aizoOn Technology Consulting. This Senior Backend Developer remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work in one of Italy’s most dynamic cities while contributing to innovative, high-impact software solutions. With Rome as our primary location, and Turin or Milan as alternative options, this role is ideal for candidates based in Italy or elsewhere in the EU who are open to relocation.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs.
• Build scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems.
• Contribute to architecture, technical strategy, and system design.
• Ensure applications meet non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Apply secure coding practices and support cybersecurity principles.
• Work within Linux environments and containerized platforms.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, SDLC automation, and DevSecOps practices.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, QA, product, and security teams.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Identify improvement opportunities and proactively drive solutions.
• Support systems handling large data volumes and high-throughput workloads.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend development experience in production environments.
• Strong experience with one or more backend languages (e.g. Java, Python, C#, Go).
• Experience with modern backend frameworks and libraries.
• Solid understanding of backend architecture and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and containerization (Docker).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, SDLC automation, and DevSecOps.
• Strong understanding of application security and non-functional requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
• Passion for technology, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

• Experience in cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
