Senior AI Insights Developer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior AI Insights Developer to join MSCI's AI Index R&D team, where you will play a pivotal role in integrating artificial intelligence into index research and development. This Senior AI Insights Developer remote position allows you to work from anywhere while contributing to innovative projects that leverage large language models (LLMs) and advanced data science methodologies.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop advanced AI systems utilizing LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic architectures to enhance index research and methodology interpretation.
• Prototype and validate new AI concepts, translating research ideas into production-ready solutions.
• Integrate and optimize AI workflows with data systems such as Snowflake and ClickHouse to enable scalable automation.
• Develop and maintain testing, evaluation, and quality-control frameworks to ensure reliability and transparency of AI-generated outputs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Index R&D, Data & AI, and Engineering teams to align AI innovation with business priorities.
• Explore emerging technologies in LLM orchestration and multi-agent reasoning to adopt best practices for MSCI’s AI ecosystem.
• Contribute to the evolution of MSCI’s AI Index framework, defining standards and governance for responsible AI in index research.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related quantitative field with exposure to AI or Data Science.
• Over 6 years of experience in the financial services or data industry.
• 1-2 years of hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and RAG systems.
• Strong Python programming skills, with experience in AI frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Familiarity with data infrastructure (SQL, Snowflake, ClickHouse) and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Understanding of financial indexes and their role in institutional portfolios.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced research environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing multi-step reasoning systems and scalable API-based solutions.
• Knowledge of ESG and thematic investing.
