About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) Blockchain Software Engineer to join our remote team. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of digital identity, requiring a deep understanding of SSI philosophy and implementation, cryptographic protocols, and real-world applications. As a Blockchain Software Engineer, you will work on advanced SSI applications that empower individuals to own and control their digital identities, free from traditional centralized authorities.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement SSI solutions that leverage Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) to enhance user identity management.
  • Develop libraries for issuing, holding, and verifying Verifiable Credentials (VCs) across various sectors such as education, healthcare, and finance.
  • Craft privacy-preserving credentials using zero-knowledge proofs to enable selective disclosure of personal information.
  • Build frameworks for cross-domain identity interactions, ensuring secure and seamless identity verification across platforms.
  • Utilize blockchain and distributed ledger technologies to anchor DIDs and record verifiable credentials transactions.
  • Collaborate with product teams to integrate SSI technologies into our offerings, enhancing user control over personal data.
  • Stay updated on advancements in cryptographic protocols, privacy-enhancing technologies, and blockchain innovations.
  • Contribute to the research and development of new SSI concepts and applications.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) development with a portfolio showcasing previous work.
  • Strong programming skills in Rust and familiarity with blockchains.
  • Deep knowledge of DIF, communication protocols, Identity Wallets, and W3C Verifiable Credentials.
  • Expertise in cryptographic protocols used by SSI technologies.
  • Understanding of Zero Knowledge Proofs and their applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
