We are seeking a Remote VP of Engineering to lead our Institutional Trading division at Alpaca. What You'll Do

  • Define and own the engineering roadmap for Alpaca's institutional trading platform.
  • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing team of engineers focused on institutional trading capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Global Head of Brokerage and senior leaders to enhance our multi-asset trading offerings.
  • Implement strong architectural judgment and execution discipline to extend our brokerage platform into new institutional tiers.
  • Drive the adoption of innovative technologies and practices within the engineering team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a VP of Engineering or similar leadership role in the financial technology sector.
  • Strong background in API-driven platforms and institutional trading.
  • Experience in building and leading engineering teams, with a focus on high performance and accountability.
  • Deep understanding of multi-asset trading, including equities, options, FX, and derivatives.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
