Remote Technical Project Manager - Higher Education Solutions

About the Role

DataKind is seeking a Remote Technical Project Manager to support the technical development and scaling of innovative products in the higher education sector. This role is fully remote, providing you the flexibility to work from anywhere in the world while primarily aligning with Eastern Time hours (8am-6pm). As a Remote Technical Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in building platform solutions that make a meaningful impact in education.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with Engineering and Data Science teams to plan and execute technical projects effectively.
• Translate program technology priorities into coordinated project plans and tasks.
• Manage complex projects involving multiple high-profile stakeholders, including university leaders and implementation partners.
• Capture feature requests and convert them into actionable technical project plans.
• Ensure high-quality delivery by overseeing the completion of tasks by Engineering and Data Science teams.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, preferably in the EdTech sector.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple dependencies.
• Experience in technical development and scaling of products.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with higher education institutions.
• Familiarity with data science and engineering concepts.
• Project management certification (PMP, Agile, etc.).
