About the Role

We're hiring a Remote Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our innovative team at Empassion. This role is pivotal as you will help improve the quality of care for patients with advanced illnesses while working remotely. You will collaborate with a talented group of engineers and contribute to impactful solutions that enhance healthcare delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Own the design, development, testing, and maintenance of high-impact full-stack features.
  • Become a system expert across our architecture, including Vue.js for the frontend and Python Django for backend APIs.
  • Utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as GKE, Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), and BigQuery to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Advocate for pragmatic engineering practices and simple, robust architectures.
  • Partner closely with Clinical Operations to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on backend technologies.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in building scalable backend web APIs with expert-level proficiency in Python.
  • Hands-on experience with Django and/or Django REST Framework (DRF).
  • Solid understanding of DevOps fundamentals, including CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
  • Strong frontend skills with experience in Vue.js or React.
  • Advanced knowledge of relational databases, including PostgreSQL, schema design, indexing, and query optimization.

  • Experience designing complex state management systems, including state machines and rules engines.
  • A self-starter mentality with a high sense of ownership and accountability.
