About the Role
We're hiring a Remote Principal Security Engineer to join our dynamic team at Auros. This role is crucial for implementing and operating security controls across our infrastructure, ensuring that our systems remain resilient and secure. As a Principal Security Engineer, you will engage directly with senior leadership, emphasizing the importance of security as a core engineering and risk function.
What You'll Do
- Implement and maintain security controls across multi-cloud environments (primarily AWS and Azure, with some GCP and AliCloud) and on-prem infrastructure.
- Own IAM strategy and implementation: design and enforce identity, access, and permissions models that are secure, scalable, and practical.
- Design and operate key management and custody security controls to protect sensitive data.
- Collaborate closely with Infrastructure and Engineering teams to harden cloud environments and secure CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and deploy security improvements, ensuring they are effective yet unobtrusive to the engineering and trading processes.
- Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
- Stay updated with the latest security trends and technologies, implementing best practices across the organization.
- Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to team members on security-related issues.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering, with a focus on cloud security.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure.
- Experience with CI/CD security practices and tools.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
- Deep understanding of IAM, key management, and security controls.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to security challenges.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
Nice to Have
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or AWS Certified Security Specialty.
- Experience in the cryptocurrency or financial technology sectors.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
