Remote Legal Counsel - Global Operations

About the Role

We are seeking a Remote Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team at NATIONAL CREDIT RECOVERY INC. (NCRi). This position offers the opportunity to provide legal support across our global operations, ensuring compliance and effective risk management. As a Remote Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in transforming the operational model of collection agencies while maintaining professionalism and respect in all client interactions.

What You'll Do

• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Provide legal advice on employment matters and assist in sanctions compliance.
• Develop and maintain data privacy frameworks in accordance with GDPR regulations.
• Coordinate with external counsel to manage legal risks effectively.
• Monitor legal developments and assess potential risks to the organization.
• Manage a diverse caseload while prioritizing urgent legal matters.
• Contribute to the development of legal templates and resources for internal use.
• Support the legal function's workload management and team collaboration.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
• Knowledge of sanctions compliance frameworks and GDPR regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Experience coordinating with external counsel is essential.
• Experience in the international humanitarian or nonprofit sector is a bonus.
• Multi-jurisdictional experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of relevant languages is a plus.
