About the Role

We are seeking a Remote General Ledger Accountant to join our dynamic team at a well-capitalized real estate investment group. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. What You'll Do

• Manage and oversee the general ledger accounting process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports, providing insights into financial performance.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, collaborating with other departments to ensure financial goals are met.
• Utilize software tools such as NetSuite and Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and analysis.
• Support the payroll management process, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
• Participate in audits and assist in the implementation of internal controls.
• Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the accounting function.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably in a real estate or investment environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software, particularly NetSuite and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Yardi or similar property management software.
• Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting.
• CPA certification or progress towards certification.
