What You'll Do
- Research target institutions, programs, and stakeholders to understand their organizational structures and buying dynamics before outreach.
- Initiate outbound conversations via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to engage the right stakeholders.
- Lead early conversations that diagnose institutional readiness and fit, focusing on quality over quantity.
- Develop, test, and refine messaging tailored to different buyer personas, including career services and program leadership.
- Challenge prospects respectfully when their current approach may not drive real employment outcomes.
- Disqualify misaligned prospects confidently and professionally.
- Maintain and nurture a focused book of prospects with thoughtful follow-up and relevant insights.
- Run structured outreach experiments across messaging, channels, and timing; analyze results and apply learnings.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to share market feedback and improve engagement strategies.
Requirements
- Experience in selling or marketing a business-facing product or service, preferably in a SaaS environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate a clear point of view.
- Demonstrated business judgment and understanding of organizational purchasing decisions.
- Comfort initiating cold outreach and leading conversations with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to think critically about fit, readiness, and priority, not just activity volume.
- Experience using a CRM as a core tool for planning work and managing follow-up.
- Strong analytical instincts to assess what’s working and adjust strategies accordingly.
- High personal accountability and ownership over outcomes.
Nice to Have
- Experience selling SaaS or subscription-based B2B products.
- Familiarity with sales fundamentals such as pipeline math and conversion rates.
- Experience working at an early-stage company or on a lean team.
