About the Role

We're hiring a Remote Application Security Engineer to join our dynamic team at Anthropic. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the security of our AI systems, making security a core consideration throughout the software development lifecycle. What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with software engineers and researchers to integrate security practices into the design and implementation phases.

  • Develop tools and systems that empower developers to ship code securely, adhering to best practices in secure coding.
  • Shape the tooling, detection capabilities, and defenses against emerging threats to AI/ML.
  • Create standards, processes, and educational resources to cultivate a culture of security among all Anthropic engineers.
  • Think like an attacker to anticipate potential vulnerabilities and devise strategies to counteract them.
  • Build strong relationships across teams to foster a collaborative approach to security.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in application security or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices and threat modeling.
  • Experience with security tools and technologies relevant to application security.
  • Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with AI/ML systems is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications in security (e.g., CISSP, CEH, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud security practices.
  • Experience in developing security training programs for engineers.
