Referral Coordinator - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Referral Coordinator - Remote to join our team at Aroostook Mental Health Services. In this role, you will play a crucial part in facilitating access to mental health and community-based services for individuals in need. As a Referral Coordinator, your work will directly impact clients' journeys toward recovery and wellness.

What You'll Do

• Manage and coordinate referrals for mental health and substance use services, ensuring timely access for clients.
• Utilize electronic health records (EHR) to track referrals and maintain accurate documentation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to facilitate care coordination.
• Screen patient eligibility for services and assist with medical billing and insurance verification.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
• Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing case files.
• Adhere to HIPAA compliance and maintain confidentiality in all interactions.
• Utilize problem-solving skills to address client needs and overcome barriers to care.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with EHR systems and medical billing processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of mental health services and community resources.
• Proficiency in analytical skills to assess client needs and develop appropriate referral plans.
