About the Role

Whippany Actuation Systems is seeking a Production Manager to join our innovative aerospace manufacturing team. This Production Manager remote position is pivotal in leading our repair, assembly, and testing operations within the Utility Actuation business unit. As a strategic leader, you will ensure production performance while fostering a high-performing, cross-trained workforce.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee production operations, ensuring work is completed according to the production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel.
  • Manage labor resources effectively to meet production goals while maintaining cost control.
  • Participate in developing departmental goals and operational policies, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor compliance with established policies and procedures, ensuring assembly spending is within budget.
  • Support the growth and development of direct reports through performance reviews and training schedules.
  • Analyze data to resolve personnel and production issues, recommending actionable solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to coordinate workflow and support new product introductions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 years of progressive leadership experience in production or operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coach and resolve conflicts.
  • Proven ability to identify issues and implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Authorization to work in the US.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems and shop-floor data collection tools.
  • Demonstrated success in building multi-skilled teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
