Preschool Teacher Assistant - Head Start Program

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Preschool Teacher Assistant for our Head Start Program in Miami, Florida. This is a full-time position where you will assist in the care and development of preschool children, ensuring they receive a nurturing and educational environment. As a Preschool Teacher Assistant, you will work closely with Head Start classroom teachers to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that fosters children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and creative skills.

What You'll Do

• Assist Head Start classroom teachers in daily activities and classroom management.
• Plan and implement engaging activities that support children's development.
• Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDA or FCCPC certification in preschool education is mandatory.
• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education is a plus.
• 1-2 years of experience working with preschool children preferred.
• Completion of DCF Child Care 45-hour training and VPK courses.
• Current Red Cross First Aid certificate and a certificate of good health.
• Must pass a fingerprint and background check (level 2) and drug test.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a Head Start program.
• Additional continuing education hours in early childhood education.

What We Offer

• Competitive hourly rate of $17.91, equating to approximately $37,200 annually.
