Power Systems Engineer (Testing) - Synchrophasor Technology

About the Role

We are looking for a Power Systems Engineer (Testing) remote to join our team at Electric Power Group (EPG). As a leading company in Synchrophasor technology, we provide real-time grid monitoring and analytics software to electric utilities and grid operators globally. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our software solutions, which help prevent blackouts and maintain stable power systems.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop engineering test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures based on software requirements.
• Execute tests to identify engineering algorithm inconsistencies.
• Investigate unexpected results to determine root causes and make engineering recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with QA and Software Development teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain engineering design documentation to ensure clarity and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in power system analysis including power flow simulations, contingency analysis, and event analysis.
• Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to multi-task effectively.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with PSS/E, TARA Power GEM or equivalent tools.
• Experience in EMS advanced applications and real-time operations support for transmission and distribution systems.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps tools.
