Navigation System Engineer - Remote Position
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Navigation System Engineer remote to join Telespazio, a leader in Space Operations Service & Engineering. With nearly 40 years of experience, we contribute significantly to major European Space Agency programs. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, including the development of the Galileo 2nd Generation System.
What You'll Do
- Support the development and design of Data Dissemination infrastructure and end-to-end concepts for the Galileo 2nd Generation System.
- Contribute to the definition, analysis, and consolidation of system requirements and their flow down to segments.
- Perform trade-off analyses and assessments throughout the development using system engineering tools.
- Interface with ESA and other contractors for technical matters.
- Support system reviews throughout the project lifecycle on system engineering aspects.
- Elaborate technical and contractual documentation (DCN/DCP, RFW/RFD, DDF, DJF, IRDs, etc.).
- Plan and follow tasks in a structured manner with managers and stakeholders.
- Work in an international team in cooperation with system engineering and security experts.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in aerospace, telecommunications, or related engineering disciplines; PhD is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in space system engineering and ground systems architecture applied to GNSS, preferably in the Galileo Programme.
- Programming skills in engineering (e.g., Matlab, Python, C++).
- Familiarity with DOORS and requirements management.
- Eligibility for security clearance from a national security administration.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of other European languages is an asset.
- Knowledge of space communication protocols is a plus.
- A Scaled Agile certification and knowledge of MBSE tools (e.g., Capella) are advantageous.

Who Will Succeed Here
Strong proficiency in GNSS technologies and aerospace engineering principles, with hands-on experience in MATLAB and Python for simulation and modeling tasks.

Experience in using DOORS for requirements management and MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) to support the development lifecycle of complex navigation systems.
