Mid-Senior PhD Process Modelling Engineer - Oil & Gas

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative PhD Process Modelling Engineer to join our team at Process Integration Limited. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in the oil and gas industry. As a PhD Process Modelling Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in process systems engineering to optimize refinery and chemical processes, contributing to our mission of delivering integrated AI-driven solutions.

What You'll Do

• Build, validate, and maintain models for refinery and petrochemical processes, including catalytic reforming and hydrocracking.
• Perform steady-state and dynamic simulations using tools like UniSim™, Aspen HYSYS, and Aspen Plus.
• Generate large-scale simulation datasets to support AI/ML model development.
• Conduct techno-economic assessments to guide process improvements.
• Develop, train, and validate machine learning models for process optimization.

Requirements

• PhD in Process System Engineering or Chemical Engineering with a focus on process modelling and optimization.
• Experience in modelling and optimization of refinery and chemical processes.
• Proficiency in process simulation software such as UniSim™, Hysys, or Aspen Plus.
• Strong background in machine learning and data analysis techniques.
• Excellent critical thinking skills and effective communication abilities.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Python, GAMS, or MATLAB.
• Experience with deep learning and time-series forecasting.
• Knowledge of data science techniques and methods.
