Mechanical Engineer - Packing Plant (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer - Packing Plant (Remote) to join our team at Dangote Group. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating all packing plant production and maintenance activities to prevent disruptions and ensure that operational targets are met. What You'll Do

• Participate in the development and articulation of the plant’s maintenance plan.
• Ensure that mechanical maintenance is carried out properly and safely according to the plant's requirements.
• Oversee the maintenance of packing plant's mechanical equipment.
• Ensure proper housekeeping of job areas and the plant in general.
• Liaise with relevant HSE personnel for the provision of personal protection equipment and safety training.
• Enforce the use of personal protection equipment during respective shifts to prevent accidents.
• Provide effective on-the-job training for packing plant operators.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Packing Plant as required.

Requirements

• BSc./HND in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent.
• 2 to 9 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• In-depth knowledge of cement packing machines, functions, and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance repair methods, techniques, and safety practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment accurately and quickly.
• Good leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the cement industry.
