Lead Cinematic Director - Remote Position in Game Development

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Lead Cinematic Director to join our remote team in the gaming industry. As a Lead Cinematic Director, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a cohesive cinematic style for cutscenes and dialogues, ensuring a captivating storytelling experience for players. This role offers the opportunity to lead cinematic projects from concept to final implementation in Unity, allowing you to showcase your creativity and leadership skills.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain a unified cinematic style for cutscenes and dialogues in our games.
• Oversee cutscenes at all stages, from initial ideas and tasks to final implementation in Unity.
• Direct scenes, work with camera angles, storyboarding/layout, and order animations and assets.
• Assemble and provide technical support for cutscenes using Unity's Timeline feature.
• Provide feedback to other cinematic directors, ensuring a consistent directing style across projects.
• Visual storytelling: understand dramaturgy, pacing, rhythm, and pauses to effectively convey narratives.
• Demonstrate strong communication and management skills: set tasks for animators, review their work, and maintain high self-organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Cinematic Director or similar role in game development.
• Proficiency in Unity and its cinematic tools, particularly Timeline.
• Strong understanding of visual storytelling and game development pipelines.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
• A portfolio showcasing previous cinematic work and projects.

Nice to Have

• Experience with animation and asset creation.
• Knowledge of various animation software and tools.
• Familiarity with different game genres and styles.
