Junior Technical Designer - AAA Game Development

About the Role

Climax Studios is excited to announce an opening for a Junior Technical Designer remote position. As a key member of our team, you will work on multiple unannounced AAA FPS titles, directly impacting the player experience. This role is perfect for those looking to blend their design and engineering skills in a creative environment.

What You'll Do

• Implement gameplay and level events using visual scripting and proprietary toolsets.
• Build reusable templates and scripting frameworks to enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with gameplay programmers to evolve or refactor systems as needed.
• Identify and mitigate technical debt within gameplay content.
• Document scripting workflows and best practices for the team.

Requirements

• Professional experience implementing gameplay and level events on a shipped title.
• Experience with visual scripting systems (e.g., Unreal Blueprint).
• Solid general scripting skills and understanding of gameplay logic.
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with both designers and engineers.

Nice to Have

• Experience in console game development.
• Familiarity with gameplay systems at production scale.
• Knowledge of technical documentation practices.
