Junior Designer - Remote Position

About the Role

SPUN is seeking a creative and motivated Junior Designer - Remote to join its communications team on a freelance basis, focusing on shaping and growing SPUN’s visual identity. As a Junior Designer, you will have the opportunity to work on graphic and web design projects that contribute to impactful environmental research.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with the Design Lead to refine the brand aesthetic and ensure consistency across all design materials.
• Contribute to the development of design guidelines and systems that enhance SPUN’s visual identity.
• Create engaging social media assets that effectively communicate SPUN’s mission and science visually.
• Manage your workflow efficiently to meet deadlines while working remotely with a global team.
• Utilize tools such as Figma, InDesign, and Google Docs to produce high-quality design work.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide creative input to enhance design projects.
• Illustration skills and experience with motion graphics will be considered a plus.
• Engage with diverse communities and researchers to gather insights that inform your design work.

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in brand and communications design or relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Figma and InDesign, with a strong understanding of page layout for print.
• Ability to create visually appealing social media assets that align with brand guidelines.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Comfortable collaborating across time zones and adapting to a flexible work schedule.

Nice to Have
