About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Product Engineering to join our dynamic team at Schwarz Digits. This remote position allows you to work flexibly within Germany, contributing to one of the fastest-growing online marketplaces. As the Head of Product Engineering, you will lead high-performing teams to deliver exceptional products that enhance customer experiences.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support engineers and managers across up to five product teams in a you-build-it-you-run-it environment.
• Contribute hands-on to software development while fostering team growth and alignment.
• Drive transparency and remove roadblocks to ensure successful product delivery.
• Leverage innovative technologies to create products that customers love and that deliver business value.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving engineering practices and organizational guidelines.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager with a strong background in scalable web applications.
• Hands-on experience with PHP and JavaScript, essential for leading cross-functional product teams.
• Exceptional communication skills, particularly in a remote work environment.
• Fluency in English (C1) and a passion for mentoring engineers.
• Strong sense of ownership and the ability to inspire teams towards success.

Nice to Have

• Experience in e-commerce or online marketplace environments.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and modern development practices.
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a tech-driven organization.
