About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced General Counsel / Head of Legal to join our team in a fully remote capacity. As the General Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our legal strategy and ensuring compliance across all operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the legal framework of our organization while working remotely.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the legal department, providing strategic legal advice to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Oversee all legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage corporate governance and compliance matters, including data privacy and risk management.
  • Negotiate and draft complex contracts, including SaaS agreements and investment fund documents.
  • Integrate AI tools and automation into legal operations to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align legal strategies with business objectives.
  • Provide training and guidance on legal matters to internal stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on legal trends and changes in regulations affecting the SaaS industry.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a legal role, with significant experience in corporate law and M&A.
  • Proven track record of managing legal operations in a SaaS or tech environment.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, data protection, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
  • Experience with AI integration and legal technology is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in venture capital or private equity law.
  • Familiarity with Delaware limited partnerships and corporate structures.
  • Knowledge of tax strategy and its implications in corporate law.
