Game Designer - Remote Contract Position

About the Role

Flo Health is seeking a talented Game Designer to join our team on a remote contract basis. As a Game Designer, you will craft engaging and intuitive casual game experiences that support cognitive longevity while driving user engagement and retention. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of game design, behavioral science, and product thinking, contributing to our mission of empowering women to better understand their bodies.

What You'll Do

• Design simple, intuitive casual game mechanics that enhance user engagement.
• Develop and iterate on engaging core loops that keep players coming back.
• Balance progression and difficulty scaling to ensure a rewarding user experience.
• Create clear, structured, actionable game design documentation for development teams.
• Collaborate closely with product, analytics, and development teams to align on goals.
• Utilize data insights and user feedback to improve game mechanics continuously.
• Run experiments and contribute to A/B testing initiatives to refine gameplay.
• Work with a focus on cognitive health and behavioral science to enhance game design.

Requirements

• Experience designing casual or hyper-casual games.
• Strong systems thinking with a simplicity-first mindset.
• Understanding of retention mechanics and player motivation.
• Comfort working with product metrics and A/B tests.
• Clear communication and structured documentation skills.
• Interest in cognitive health or behavioral science.
• Familiarity with mobile development, particularly Unity, is a plus.
