Freelance Product Designer - Remote

About the Role

Go Vocal is seeking a talented Freelance Product Designer to join our mission-driven team. As a Freelance Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing civic engagement through intuitive design. This position allows you to work remotely while contributing to impactful projects that empower communities. You will collaborate with a diverse team and utilize your design skills to create user-friendly experiences for our SaaS platform.

What You'll Do

• Design workflows for complex enterprise features that enhance user experience.
• Audit and refine existing platform UX/UI to improve usability.
• Create high-fidelity prototypes and design system components using Figma.
• Collaborate in 8-week development cycles employing Shape Up methodology.
• Work on a flexible retainer basis, committing approximately 40 hours per month.
• Engage in self-directed work suited for asynchronous collaboration.
• Contribute to the development of accessible and inclusive design solutions.
• Leverage your strong portfolio to demonstrate end-to-end product design capabilities.

Requirements

• 4+ years of product design experience, preferably in B2B/B2G SaaS.
• Strong portfolio showcasing your design process and outcomes.
• Proficiency in design tools, especially Figma.
• Ability to design for complex workflows and enterprise users.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
• Experience with design systems and component libraries.

Nice to Have

• Experience in civic tech or social impact projects.
• Familiarity with user research and usability testing.
• Knowledge of front-end development principles.
